Alliston Potato Festival

We’re right on the main street and you’ll have a front row seat to all the action. Especially the vintage car show. People come from everywhere to join in this annual festival!

Every Saturday at 8am-2pm, from May til October, you will find warm, oven baked goodies, jams, jellies, honey, syrups, crafts, plants, local potato chips, meats from local farmers and of course fresh fruits and veggies.

Sir Frederick Banting Homestead
Sir Frederick Banting, the co-discoverer of insulin, grew up on this typical Simcoe County farm just on the outskirts of Alliston. Tour the Diabetes Management and Education Centre and learn about Banting the medical hero, war hero, carver and artist.
Museum on the Boyne
Nestled among the trees of Riverdale Park the Museum on the Boyne features a 1914 Agricultural Fair Building, an 1851 log cabin and an 1858 English barn. The site offers guided and self-guided tours, educational programs, special exhibits, events, workshops and research facilities.
